JOTA 2009 52 Years
The 2009 Jamboree-on-theAir (JOTA) was held on 17-18 October 2009. Setup began on the Friday preceding.
The primary location was at Oscar AI4SS' Farm on River Road, John's Island, SC.
Amateur Radio operators operated HF stations to allow Scouts and Leaders to make contact with other JOTA sites worldwide. All operations were done from battery or generator power.
Scouts were provided the opportunity to attend Amateur Radio and electronics classes to help them in obtaining related merit badges and other awards.
Scouts and leaders, along with some volunteers, camped out at the site.
